A full circle moment and a love letter to Paris 💌 5 years ago to the day I landed in Paris with a one way plane ticket, a backpack, and a broken heart.

Like many, I had always been drawn to Paris, but that time period solidified my love for France. I hiked 750 km from a south central town to the Spanish border, living off of hard boiled eggs and croissants, sleeping in hostels, crying, laughing, talking to strangers, turning them into friends.

After the hike I came back to Paris, stronger, happier, and more of a Francophile than ever. I left reluctantly when my tourist visa ended, vowing to come back one day for good.

Fast forward, and here I am. Getting here wasn’t the easiest. A pandemic, school applications, fees for seemingly everything under the sun, a brutal apartment hunt, the heartbreaking decision to leave my partner in the states…but I’m so proud to have made it. Who knows how long I’ll be here for—maybe a couple years, maybe forever—but I am so grateful to be able to call Paris home. 💌
