Happy Aloha Friday, friends!

Lately I’ve been dealing with an extreme case of wanderlust, but as I am currently saving up for a fall trip to Europe, I’ve been unable to quench my travel thirst. Day in and day out I let my mind wander to far-off lands, but at the end of the day it’s my own bed I’m sleeping in. Whenever I’ve found myself getting stuck in these funks, whether I’ve been living in Minneapolis, San Francisco, or Honolulu, I’ve found that the most excellent cure is getting out of the house and exploring my own surroundings. Sometimes just a hike through some unexplored woods, a cappuccino from a new lunch spot, or a nap on a fresh stretch of beach is all it takes to feel adventurous and refreshed.

Such was the case a couple days ago when I set foot in the lobby of the Royal Hawaiian hotel for the first time. This iconic pink building is a Waikiki landmark and I can’t believe it took me so long to explore the grounds. I wore a casual red romper but spiced it up with my favorite silk scarf and my new favorite clutch from a wonderful Waikiki boutique called Angels by the Sea. Missing Spain, I decided to wear my favorite go-to wedge espadrilles that I bought in Barcelona a couple years back.

This weekend, I encourage all of you to set aside a couple of hours and explore a new space, be it a museum, a neighborhood, or even just a new bar. Cheers!
