Happy holidays, everyone! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! JK…that’s a lie I tell myself to help get through the cold. I was not cut out for midwestern weather. Anyways, I find that one way to make the start of winter more enjoyable is to dress it all up with sparkles and twinkle lights, from the Christmas tree to the makeup I wear.
If you’ve been following me on IG for a while, chances are you’ve already noticed me posting about Maëlle. Maëlle is a Chicago-based beauty brand that carries a complete line of cosmetics and skincare products that are Leaping Bunny certified.
One of my favorite aspects of having a personal blog is being able to support products and brands that I stand behind, especially when they are local. This was a big part of my blog identity in Hawaii and since “made in Hawaii” is definitely a thing it wasn’t too hard to find local brands to promote. In Chicago it’s been different. There aren’t a ton of Chicago-based brands that I’ve found. So when Maëlle reached out to me I was very interested to hear more about their brand and products.
First of all, I have to give a shoutout to the entire Maëlle team. Since late August, I have had the opportunity to get to know the individuals behind the brand and they are all truly lovely people who are deeply passionate about their business.
What solidified the relationship with this brand for me (and this is kind of dorky but whatever) is that their tagline, “Live Beautifully,” is my personal tagline as well. When I was 19 and living in Hawaii and reckless (ok I’m still reckless and I hope to always be…at least a little bit,) I got a tattoo, my first and only. Moving to Hawaii was really life-changing for me. I learned a great deal about who I am and who I want to be. I learned that I want to always live a beautiful life, whether it be surrounding myself with beautiful and unique people, living in a place that I find beautiful, wearing a handful of beautiful rings, or decorating my room with beautiful postcards from places I’ve been or dream of traveling to in the future. Being in a place as beautiful as Hawaii, it’s easy to feel inspired, and so I got my “live beautifully” tattoo in Hawaiian, as a constant reminder of what I had learned and where I had learned it.
Over the past few months I have tried and tested many of the Maëlle products and have become a true lifelong fan. I know everyone and their mother is posting holiday gifting guides currently (mine is coming next week – You’re welcome? This is the most amazing bronzer I’ve ever used. The palette is beautiful and perfectly shimmery. I’ve used it for everything from contour to eyeshadow.
Clearly Brilliant Tinter Lips – $18
I love all 6 shades but my favorite for winter is the ‘Berry’ shade. It’s nicely pigmented but not overwhelming.
My skin gets quite dry in the winter and this stuff has been my knight in shining armour to get me through! Just a few drops keeps me feeling fresh instead of flaky.
Wrinkles Away! Restorative Night Cream – $30
I’m a sucker for night creams and this stuff works wonders. It’s light and nicely scented and keeps my skin hydrated all through the night.
