A Very Merry Christmas

Yesterday afternoon Ryan and I arrived back from our ten-day trip to the Midwest for the holidays. It feels great to be home but it was so nice to be able to spend Christmas with family and friends in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Today I’m sharing my Christmas Eve look, which I wore to our annual family party. Christmas Eve has always been my absolute favorite part of Christmas because the festivities have only just begun and you have an entire day to look forward to when it comes to a close. I love being surrounded by all of the amazing family members from my mom’s side, singing Christmas carols, drinking Galloway Company eggnog, and donning our best holiday gear.

This year I chose a red lace dress that I bought from a thrift shop while in Seattle this past fall. I love the lace detail around the neck and on the sleeves, and the color is perfect for the holidays. I paired the dress with an army green ribbon, which I tied around my waist. The ribbon was something of an afterthought and I was hesitant to wear it as the colors were kind of strange together, but then I thought, “what the hell,” and wore it anyways. Finishing touches included a pair of gold metallic Kate Spade heels, some glittering earrings, and a swipe of magenta lip-gloss.

From one eve to another, Christmas to New Year’s, I hope each and every one of you has enjoyed this magical time of year. I wish you all love, light, and prosperity going forward. Farewell 2015!
