Plant Domes

While we were home for the holidays, my sister and I opted to spend a couple of days in Milwaukee before Christmas. We drove over from Madison on a Thursday afternoon, met up with my aunt, scooped up my cousin from her high school, and headed on over to the Mitchell Park Plant Domes.

Each of the three domes showcases a distinct climate and an array of plants commonly found in that climate. Of the three themes, (desert, tropical, and seasonal,) my favorite has always been the seasonal because they decorate it for Christmas each year with multiple pine trees, holiday flowers, and twinkle lights galore. Although I’ve never visited at any other time of year, I hear that they have some other very cool exhibits including a model train display and a summer floral show. If you’re in Milwaukee, I think it’s worth a visit 🙂
