Hello, you beautiful people!
Wow – it has certainly been much too long since I last typed up a post and I’ve missed it way too much. But you know, work, travel…sometimes life sneaks up behind you like a massive wave and you just have to roll with it and ride it all the way in to shore. C’est la vie.
Today I’m sharing an outfit that I’d nearly forgotten we photographed. This was the day my car was rear ended so I guess I had other things on my mind…anyways, those of you who have been following Breakfast with Katie for a while now have most likely seen other posts shot in Kaka’ako, the up and coming artsy neighborhood sandwiched between downtown Honolulu and Waikiki. When I think of Kaka’ako, the first things that pop into my mind are brightly colored murals, which cover walls and buildings throughout the area. If you’re ever bored on O’ahu, it’s nice to stop by Arvo cafe, grab an iced tea or coffee to go, and just walk around and admire the street art!
It’s also fun to people watch and check out the street style, especially during the monthly night market. I feel like this is one of the few neighborhoods on O’ahu where I notice people trying out some of the newer trends, for example you may see girls wearing platforms or booties instead of just flip-flop sandals.
Everyday it seems that Kaka’ako is changing a little bit more and personally I’m really excited to see the vibe it takes on as it evolves.
