Good morning, everyone! Happy hump day! As promised in a post from earlier this month, I’m sharing my favorite smoothie recipe. This smoothie is a spin-off of Leahi Health’s delicious King Green. To make this smoothie, you will need 1/3 of a cup of kombucha, 1 apple banana (or 1/2 of a regular banana,) a slice of lemon, a slice of pineapple, a handful of greens, a few small pieces of ginger, and ice. I like to add a piece of avocado to make it extra creamy and green, and a teaspoon or two of chia seeds.
First, pour 1/3 of a cup of kombucha into your blender.

Next, add pineapple and ginger. I like to use 4-5 pieces of ginger but if you don’t want it to be too strong I recommend 2-3.
Add your banana. I like apple bananas better because they make the smoothie creamier and sweeter in my opinion.

I usually use half spinach and half kale but any greens will do. Also, be sure to keep the peel on your slice of lemon. It’s loaded with nutrients!
I like to add avocado for texture, and also because I just love avocado.
Ditto with the chia seeds!
Add a scoop of ice cubes and you’re all set to blend.

Blend until smooth and enjoy right away.

Yum!
While I love making this smoothie at home, nothing quite compares to the original from Leahi Health. I think a major reason why the original is so unbeatable is because they use their own homemade kombucha. I encourage everyone to try it out! But for now, I hope you enjoy trying it at home and I hope it gives you the burst of morning energy that it always manages to give me. If you try it, leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!
